Front of House Team Member

At Berkshire Mountain Bakery, we're passionate about crafting naturally fermented sourdough breads, pastries, and wood-fired pizzas using traditional methods and quality ingredients. Our front-of-house team plays an essential role in creating the warm, welcoming experience our customers have come to expect.
Position Overview
This is primarily a closing-shift position with responsibilities centered on retail sales and customer service, while also supporting our popular Take & Bake Pizza Station. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers with friendly, knowledgeable service in person and over the phone
- Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately process cash and credit card transactions
- Prepare Take & Bake pizzas and assist with light food preparation as needed
- Stock and merchandise bakery products throughout the day
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting retail space
- Complete end-of-day cleaning, sanitation, and closing procedures
- Support daily bakery operations and assist teammates as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a bakery, café, restaurant, or retail food environment preferred
- Experience handling cash; familiarity with Square POS is a plus
- Basic food preparation experience preferred
- ServSafe certification is a plus
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to remain calm and efficient during busy periods
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellent customer service
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds when necessary
Compensation
- $15.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience
