What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Service Technician position at Berkshire Health Systems and Careers?
- DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
- The primary job responsibilities will be associated with Environmental Services Project Work, such as stripping and refinishing of hardwood floors, rotary scrubbing, extracting, bonnet cleaning and all other forms of carpet maintenance. In addition, this position will handle minor facilities maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, addressing patient TV issues, unclogging toilets, adjusting thermostats to ensure patient comfort etc. Work that does require specific trades licensure (Electrician, Plumber, HVAC) will be excluded from this scope of work.
- POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
- Experience:
- One year of experience as a EVS Specialist in an institutional setting.
- One year of experience performing general maintenance preferred.
- Proven ability to perform restorative cleaning duties.
- Proven ability to perform duties and tasks in accordance with established standards.
- Education and Training:
- HS diploma or GED required.
- License, Certification & Registration:
- None.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to perform repetitive duties.
- Willingness to complete assignments with a high level of quality and consideration of patients, staff, and visitors.
- Ability to receive criticism professionally.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to use communication devices such as telephones pagers, etc.
