Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated and curious individual to join our Executive & Professional (E&P) Underwriting Team in Chicago as a Summer Intern. This 12-week paid internship offers a deep dive into the world of commercial underwriting. You will receive direct training from experienced BHSI Teammates covering the entirety of our product portfolio, including Private/Not-for-Profit Company Directors & Officers Insurance, Employment Practices, Fiduciary Liability and Commercial Crime.
You will:
- Learn how to evaluate and underwrite casualty risks.
- Gain exposure to the insurance lifecycle and the broader commercial casualty market.
- Collaborate with experienced underwriters and cross-functional teams.
- Participate in real-world projects that impact our customers and business.
You will be part of a dynamic and supportive underwriting team that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Your work will directly contribute to protecting our clients’ assets and ensuring the profitability of our portfolio.

Qualifications:

Pay Transparency:
The base salary range for this position in Boston is from $22/hour - $26/hour; a candidate’s salary is determined by their relevant skills and experience. We value our teammates – both their capabilities and character – as demonstrated by our amazing culture.
