Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, Workers Compensation Division, has an opening for a Legal Clerical Assistant in its Pasadena, CA office to provide administrative support and calendar management for its Claims Legal operation.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Sorts, scans and indexes mail and legal documents.
  • Enters calendar data in multiple systems.
  • Manages light calendar conflicts.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with attorneys, legal and claims staff, court reporters, and court clerks.
  • Prepares outgoing mail for the US Postal Service.
  • Copy and file work as requested.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Minimum of High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Credential such as GED, HiSET, or TASC required.
  • Experience: Prior experience performing administrative work in a professional business setting highly preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Able to quickly master proprietary and vendor software applications.

Is always aware of the status of assigned tasks. Regularly keeps others informed of task status. Uses project management systems and calendars to keep organized.
  • Reliability: Demonstrates high level of dependability in all aspects of the job. Completes tasks on time and with minimal supervision. Arrives at work on time each day. Shows dedication to work and follows through on projects.
  • Organizational Support: Readily accepts new responsibilities and adapts well to changes in procedures. Supports organization’s goals and values. Gives appropriate priority to various work demands.

The starting hourly wage for this job is $20.4327. This hourly wage is what the employer reasonably expects to pay for the position based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations consistent with applicable law. The pay scale applies only to this position and only if it is filled in Pasadena, California. The pay scale may be different for other positions or in other locations.
