Join Our Team as a Commercial Liability Adjuster
Are you a licensed attorney looking to leverage your legal training outside of a traditional law‑firm environment? Do you enjoy analyzing complex fact patterns, evaluating liability, and driving strategic outcomes? If so, this role offers the opportunity to apply your JD and litigation mindset in a collaborative, fast‑paced claims environment.
As a Commercial Liability Adjuster, you’ll manage Commercial General Liability (CGL) claims—many in active litigation—working closely with defense counsel and internal partners to deliver fair, timely, and well‑reasoned resolutions.
What You’ll Do
Investigate with Precision
- Conduct thorough loss investigations and identify coverage and liability issues
- Evaluate facts, policy language, and legal exposure to support sound claim decisions
Analyze & Strategize
- Review pleadings, evidence, reports, and medical records to assess damages and set appropriate reserves
- Develop litigation and resolution strategies in partnership with defense counsel
Drive Resolution
- Negotiate settlements within authority and process payments accurately and efficiently
- Balance legal risk, financial exposure, and business objectives
Build Strong Cases
- Interview insureds, claimants, and witnesses to gather critical information
- Draft and document clear, defensible claim file narratives and coverage positions
Partner with Legal Experts
- Collaborate with attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle, including mediations and pre‑trial strategy
- Ensure claims are handled in compliance with regulatory and company standards
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) required
- Claims Experience: Proven experience handling Commercial General Liability (CGL) claims, including litigation
- Licensing: Active TX All Lines Adjuster License, or willingness to obtain (company‑sponsored)
- Legal & Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze liability, coverage, and litigation exposure
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly
- Organization & Judgment: Strong organizational, computer, and time‑management skills with sound decision‑making ability

Salary $100,000 - $160,000
In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, this range represents a good‐faith estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, credentials, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.

New York, NY; Parsippany, NJ; Conshohocken, PA; Wilkes‑Barre, PA; Alpharetta, GA; Rosemont, IL; Plano, TX; Scottsdale, AZ; and Rancho Cordova, CA.
