Role Description
- Drive department profitability through disciplined pricing strategy, inventory control, and expense management
- Maintain a balanced, high-performing inventory aligned with service, collision, and wholesale demand
- Deliver strong inventory turns while minimizing obsolescence
- Establish and enforce pricing strategies by customer segment to maximize gross profit while maintaining competitiveness
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of employees
- Partner with Service and Collision to ensure maximum shop throughput and fill rate performance
- Monitor and act on key KPIs:
- Sales Growth
- Department Profitability
- Days supply
- Obsolescence
- Gross profit % and total gross
- Fill rate and technician productivity impact
- Implement and enforce special order, stock order, and lost sales processes
- Analyze monthly financials and operational data to identify gaps and drive corrective action
- Ensure compliance with all OEM, safety, and regulatory standards
- Maintain operational discipline in:
- Cycle counts and inventory accuracy
- Parts-to-GL reconciliation
- Expense control and payroll management
- Lead weekly team meetings and drive a culture of accountability and execution
Performance Expectations
- Deliver consistent gross profit growth across retail and wholesale channels
- Improve service absorption and technician efficiency through parts performance
- Achieve and sustain target inventory turns and days supply benchmarks
- Maintain tight inventory controls with minimal write-offs
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in automotive parts operations
- Proven ability to manage high performing teams
- Experience managing inventory exceeding $750K
- Strong background in structured, high-performance dealership environments
- Experience with ADP/CDK or similar DMS systems preferred
- Demonstrated success in:
- Sales growth
- Inventory optimization
- Financial performance management
- Strong leadership, communication, and operational discipline
- Ability to pass background, MVR, drug screening, and employment verification
