skills for student athletes of all levels and all ages. Essential Duties
and Responsibilities Provide on-hill athletic instruction and coaching
to race students. Evaluate and oversee the development of each
athlete\'s skills. Develop strategies enabling athletes to reach their
individual goals. Create an environment that promotes teamwork. Instill
strong values and teach good sportsmanship. Provide coaching and
instruction in a professional and effective manner. Connect and
communicate with parents and other coaches. Assist high school coaches
who train or race at Berkshire East. Set up and tear down equipment for
racing events. Maintain training and racing courses. Inspect courses
maintaining on-hill safety for athletes and other skiers. Oversee the
safe execution of all training and racing activities. Provide clear
direction and expectations to all team members. Maintain race equipment
(gates, nets, cameras, timing, etc.). Prepare all required records and
reports on coaching activities. Support team athletes at races at other
mountains as required. Perform other tasks as assigned by race director.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) Strong Technical
skier background. Effective teaching skills working with children. USSA
membership preferred. L100, L200 certification preferred. Experience
and certification as an Alpine Official preferred. Strong knowledge of
skiing technique. Proven effective coaching style. Act as a role model;
motivating and positively influencing athletes. Display good judgment
skills in making decisions. Communicate clearly using 2 way radios. Core
Competencies Friendly Service: Treat people courteously and respond in a
helpful manner. Maintain a high level of productivity displaying energy
& enthusiasm. Interact with team members effectively and put team &
company goals first. Physical Demands This is a physically demanding
position. Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 75 lbs. Must be
able to ski, stand, bend, climb, lift, reach, push and pull
repetitively. Must be mentally attentive and focused at all times. Must
be able to adapt to climate and work in extreme weather conditions.

school practices and races Frequent weekend and holiday shifts Age
