- Gain first‑hand exposure to DevOps and SRE practices, including how reliable systems are designed, built, deployed, operated, and continuously improved across on‑premises platforms and cloud‑based applications
- Learn how DevOps and SRE work together to enable fast, safe software delivery while maintaining high standards for reliability, scalability, performance, and security
- Collaborate with development, operations, and platform teams to learn and apply best practices for CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, monitoring, observability, and reliability engineering
- Gain exposure to enterprise‑scale systems and interact with engineers, managers, and senior leaders to better understand the intersection of technology, operations, and business within the insurance industry
- Build a strong understanding of the end‑to‑end technology stack, including networking, storage, operating systems, virtualization, databases, applications, and cloud services
- Observe, monitor, troubleshoot, and automate activities within the Berkley environment to support platform reliability and operational excellence
Qualifications
- Highly motivated student seeking hands‑on experience in modern software delivery and platform reliability
- Interest in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
- Interest in learning CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, monitoring, observability, and reliability engineering concepts
- Interest in gaining exposure to enterprise‑scale systems and the intersection of technology, operations, and business within the insurance industry
- Interest in developing an understanding of end‑to‑end technology stacks, including networking, storage, operating systems, virtualization, databases, applications, and cloud services
- Current student status (internship/co‑op role)
