At Berklee, your work directly supports the next generation of creative leaders.

About The Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Student Support Services, this role is key to providing real-time crisis response, stabilization, and follow-up care for students living on and off-campus. This is a 12-month, full-time, 100% on-site position with work days/hours Sunday through Wednesday, 3 pm - 11 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultation and attend crisis/well-being checks in the community in coordination with Public Safety and the Student Life on-call team.
  • Coordinate crisis response and disposition, including referral to community providers (e.g., psychiatric evaluation, longer-term treatment).
  • Triage students of concern and provide necessary case management coordination, assisting day-time case managers as needed.
  • Serve as a confidential resource for student respondents in Equity/Title IX cases.
  • Participate in ongoing psycho-educational programming and outreach (e.g., suicide prevention, gate-keeper training, Mental Health First Aid) for the campus community.
  • Maintain all pertinent documentation and participate in supervision and departmental meetings.

What You'll Bring

We seek candidates with a demonstrated ability to establish rapport during emotionally charged situations and a high tolerance for ambiguity, bringing strong field experience and a proactive attitude.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 2 years of demonstrated experience providing crisis intervention and counseling services to late adolescents/young adults.
  • Multicultural excellence in working with diverse student populations (e.g., students of color, first-generation, LGBTQ, international students).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Boston area resources (Community Behavioral Health Centers, emergency hospitalization procedures).
  • Strong computer/tech skills (Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Mac).
  • Preferred experience using standardized risk assessment tools (like NABITA) and Maxient software.
