Job Summary
- Develop and deliver standards-aligned drama instruction for students in Transitional Kindergarten through Grade 5, integrating the California Arts Standards and Career Technical Education (CTE) Arts, Media, and Entertainment pathways. - Design engaging, age-appropriate lessons in acting, storytelling, improvisation, movement, voice, stagecraft, and ensemble collaboration that foster creativity, communication, and confidence. - Introduce foundational career awareness in the Arts, Media, and Entertainment sector, including theater production, performance, technical theater, design, media literacy, and collaborative creative processes. - Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including English learners, students with disabilities, and advanced performers, using inclusive and culturally responsive teaching practices. - Create a positive, safe, and student-centered classroom environment that encourages risk-taking, self-expression, teamwork, and respect for diverse perspectives. - Plan and direct classroom performances, assemblies, showcases, and school productions that demonstrate student learning and support school and community engagement. - Integrate cross-curricular connections between drama and subjects such as English language arts, social studies, music, visual arts, and social-emotional learning. - Teach and reinforce foundational theater terminology, rehearsal etiquette, audience behavior, and performance professionalism appropriate to elementary students. - Utilize formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress in performance skills, creativity, collaboration, and artistic development. - Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, arts staff, and community partners to support interdisciplinary learning opportunities and schoolwide arts initiatives. - Maintain compliance with California credentialing requirements, district policies, student safety procedures, and applicable education codes related to arts i
