Berkeley, Inc. is seeking a Client Services Associate. We are a local independent financial advisor. This position is someone who will support all members of our staff and clients. You will be the first point of contact for clients.
The best candidates will be very organized, trustworthy, personable, proactive, and fun. This is an important role within our firm. It is a robust position with many different types of tasks. Every day in the office will be different. We take our duty to do our best for clients and to enjoy ourselves at work very seriously. This position will be overseen and work closely with our Operations Manager to support other members of the firm providing internal support, customer service, and acting as a liaison between the client, the firm, and outside brokerage firms. You will interact with multiple clients on the phone or via email daily. Often, this person will be the first interaction with the client and direct them towards answers or to the advisor for assistance. Basic training will be provided for procedures and software applications specific to our industry.

Key Responsibilities:
- Update and maintain CRM and portfolio management systems
- Correspond professionally with clients regarding their accounts and personal situations
- Correspond with external service providers and custodian regarding accounts, account maintenance, and other service requests
- Coordinate and complete client workflows
- Complete investment paperwork and coordinate with funds and custodian regarding paperwork and recording
- Coordinate and track client Required Minimum Distributions
- Manage client communication regarding tax related documents and questions
- File client statements and tax documents
- Send client birthday cards and reminders for meetings and other life milestones
- Complete company payroll and tax filings using QuickBooks
- Assist with quarterly billing, reporting and tracking
Important Skills:
- Ability to multi-task and handle several unrelated items simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and getting things right the first time
- Comfortable talking through sometimes complex scenarios via phone
- Persistence to see tasks through to completion
- Strong sense of honesty, prudence and confidentiality
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills; personable and professional over the phone
- Previous work experience in a professional office environment (finance industry or related field preferred)
- Ability to work independently, but also ask questions when necessary

- While helpful, a background in business, finance, economics, or accounting is not mandatory
- Being an inquisitive self-starter
Growth potential:
This is a pathway to a different role within our firm or to become a future advisor. As a small business, we are constantly facing new challenges. We would like this person to complete the Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional (FPQP) within one year of hire.
