Billing Accounts Receivable Representative
JOB TYPE: FULL TIME
JOB SUMMARY
Berkeley Family Practice is seeking a Billing Accounts Receivable Representative to provide daily activities in the billing department. We work hard to support team players for our practice.
JOB FUNCTION FOR ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLES
- Ability to work the AR
- Ability to monitor corrected claims for appropriate codes
- Interpreting medical insurance claims
- Coding denials
- Pursing patient responsibility balances from insured patients and self-pay patients
- Monitors, review reports to collects accounts receivables
- Monitor and review schedules with notes and notification for appropriate payments
- Provide supervisor with weekly issues that are hindering collections
- Monitor calls and answer appropriately
- Sending out weekly patient statements
- Reviewing patient accounts for appropriate balance before sending out statements
- Review patient accounts that are eligible to be sent to collection agency
- Creating and printing patient statements
- Make collection calls to patients
- Post patient payments
- Analyze accounts receivable with performing necessary follow-up
- Accepts electronic payment
- Accepts credit card payment
- Accurately enters/updates patient information in EMR
- Knowable and ability to speak patients in person or via phone in regard to their account
- Knowledge of insurance
- Ability to update patient demographics and insurance information
- Operation of mail machine
- Documentation of encounters in a patient’s chart and the billing section
- Working collection accounts
QUALIFICATIONS
- EMR (prefer eClinical Works)
- Certified Professional Coder
- Medical Billing Office: 1-year experience
- Experience in interpreting EOB’s: 1-year experience
- Medical Office Accounts Receivables: 1-year experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
