Job Overview
The Student Accounts Administrator plays a key role in managing and maintaining student financial accounts, ensuring the accuracy of transactions, processing payments, and resolving any account-related issues. This position involves regular interactions with students, parents, and external agencies, both in-person and virtually. The Administrator works collaboratively across various departments within the institution to support students' financial needs effectively.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service to all student applicants and their families.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from students, parents, and staff regarding account balances, payment processes, and billing issues in person, over the phone, through Zoom, or in electronic correspondence.
- Maintain and update student financial accounts, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of records.
- Assist students and parents in understanding their financial obligations and payment options.
- Coordinate with the Financial Aid Office regarding scholarships, grants, and loans.
- Create payment plan contracts and counsel students regarding their financial obligations.
- Monitor and manage payment plans.
- Provide clear and accurate information to resolve account discrepancies and concerns.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and relevant regulations regarding students
- Negotiate payment arrangements with students and parents as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the student accounts functions.
- Accept and process cash, checks, wires, and electronic payments while ensuring adequate control of these assets.
- Prepare bank deposits.
- Process refunds, bad debt, and R2T4 calculations in accordance with federal, state, and institutional regulations and guidelines.
- Active participation in college activities, committees, and events.
- Other duties as assigned
Salary Range: $41,000 – $45,000

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Associate degree required
Training and/or Experience
- Student Accounts/Bursar experience in an institution of higher education
- Customer Service experience
