What are the responsibilities and job description for the Faculty - Full-Time Surgical Technology Professor position at Berkeley College 2?
Berkeley College, with campuses located in the New Jersey metropolitan area, seeks highly qualified and motivated instructors to teach within the Allied Health–Surgical Department to include the Surgical Technology program.
The ideal candidate will support our vision of becoming the college of choice for students pursuing lifelong success in dynamic careers. The position includes teaching theory and laboratory skill classes at our Woodland Park, New Jersey location.
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching and advising students
- Improving student outcomes by utilizing a variety of instructional delivery methods, including technology and other innovative approaches
- Maintaining and submitting appropriate individual student records
- Must be able to lift upto 50lbs
- Must be able to maintain classrrom and laboratory setting organized after each class session
- Must be comfortable teaching in both classroom and laboratory settings for sessions lasting 3 to 5 hours
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary range: $60,000 per year
Job Requirements:
- Active,non-suspended Certified Surgical Technologist NBSTSA certification is required. Individuals must have a minimum total of three years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in the Surgical Technology profesion, or a combination of both.
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in a related discipline is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build successful relationships with student populations, are also required.
