Job is performed outdoors with almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, fumes, smoke and/or loud noises.
Supervisory Responsibilities
As a condition of employment, will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results. Must have reliable transportation to/from work.

- Work with the Shop Foreman and Manager’s to maintain all Heavy-Duty Equipment and keep it in safe, working order.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records of all work done to equipment.
- Other Duties as assigned.
UALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
- Must have a valid Alaska Driver’s License
- 10 years of Mechanical experience in Heavy Equipment, including loaders, dozers, excavators, drills, and articulating haul trucks.
- Knowledge of Cat Operating systems, ability to troubleshoot and repair as necessary
- Knowledge of Atlas Copco and Furukawa Drill operating systems, ability to troubleshoot and repair as necessary.
- Ability to order necessary parts to complete maintenance and repairs as necessary.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Ability to work with computers to trouble shoot various systems on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles.
- Cat Certified Mechanic
- 15 years mechanical experience
- Class A CDL

- This position does perform DOT “safety-sensitive” functions (as defined under 49 CFR Part 40) and is subject to all federal requirements related to Department of Transportation requirements for those performing, or on-call to perform, “safety-sensitive” functions. Employees must provide a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC).
