Packaging Associate

Bericap is a privately held family-owned company founded in 1926, and is one of the leadingmanufacturers of plastic closures for food, beverage and industrial markets. As a result of continuedgrowth Bericap SC, LLC has a full-time, hourly openings for Packagining Associate reporting to the Production Supervisor.

The Packaging Associates are responsible for performing functions that support the overall manufacturingoperations and other related activities that are necessary.

Key Responsibilities

General

• Ensures that all work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury
• Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at all times (no jewelry, cell phone, nicotine in any form, etc.)
• Ensures that all food safety issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor
• Housekeeping duties performed throughout the shift
• Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and while standing/walking for duration of shift
• Dispose of scrap into proper containers
• Initiates corrective action for non-conformances
• Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It system
• Able and willing to wear appropriate PPE as required
• Flexible to quickly adapt to learning new tasks, moving to new areas to meet changing customer demands
• Duties as assigned per Production Supervisor
  
  

Material Handler Functions

• Empty scrap bins at vision system as necessary
• Correct pallets that may need to be repackaged from bags falling in
• Ensure all corrugate is removed from the floor
• Interpretation of production schedules
• OPS Tracker entries
• Start/Stop PSG and answer alarms
• Empty trash for all lines
• Maintaining material supplies to machines
• Packaging and labeling of WIP/Finished Goods
• Stretch wrapping and storage of product
• Dispose of scrap into proper containers
  
  

Skills

• Basic math skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Material handling equipment including manual pallet jacks
• Basic computer skills
  
  

Experience

Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience in preferred

Education

High school diploma is preferred
