What you will do
- Open your shift with a pass-down review; check the Maintenance Communication Board for open actions.
- Respond rapidly to safety-related machine issues and any emergency or potential emergency.
- Assist with PMs and repairs; when not on urgent work, complete and close MVP work orders.
- Record accurate details in OPS Tracker and MVP every day; contribute to CI projects from the Maintenance Manager.
- Support the tooling department and collaborate across departments to optimize equipment.
- Work safely and wear required PPE; maintain a clean, orderly workspace throughout the shift.
- Follow GMPs at all times (including no jewelry, cell phone, or nicotine in any form on the floor).
- Immediately report food safety concerns to the appropriate manager or supervisor.
- Lift up to 35 pounds unassisted; stand and walk for the full shift.
- Drive Continuous Improvement Programs; initiate corrective actions; capture opportunities in the See It, Sort It, Report It system.
- Flex to unscheduled overtime, weekends, and holidays; complete duties assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Developing skills with Windows-based software, blueprint reading, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical code/controls, PLCs, machine shop equipment, metal fabrication, mechanical principles, and basic welding.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience replacing heater bands and heat relays; troubleshooting heat zones.
- Hands-on servicing of hydraulics, including replacing hydraulic pumps.
- Proficiency in diagnosing pneumatic systems.
- 1–2 years with PLC/PC-controlled machinery and in electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting; experience repairing and maintaining plant utilities.
- Preferred: injection machine troubleshooting; high-speed packaging equipment repair; knowledge of injection processing.
- Preferred: background in ISO (or similar) quality systems and SQF (or similar) food safety systems.
High school diploma or technical college diploma in a related field preferred.
