What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Auditor position at Bericap SC LLC?
1.0 Position Purpose
The purpose of this role is to ensure that the product produced in our Cowpens facility meets the specifications and the expectations of the customer. This will comprise of conducting testing of raw materials, work in process, and finished goods; and making quality related decisions.
2.0 Responsibilities
2.1 General
- Ensures that all work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury
- Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at all times (no jewelry, cell phone, nicotine in any form, etc.)
- Ensures that all food safety issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor
- Housekeeping duties performed throughout the shift
- Dispose of scrap into proper containers
- Initiates corrective action for non-conformances
- Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It system
- Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and to work while standing for 12 hours
- Able and willing to wear appropriate PPE as required
- Other duties as assigned
2.2 Plant QA Functions
- Operate instruments to measure dimensional and functional conformance of closures
- Conduct start up “First Off’s” to assure compliance of product with specifications using test equipment to assure that process has been set up properly
- Perform audits of process and final product
- Initiate corrective action for non-conformances and notify appropriate manager/supervisor
- Place product on hold as necessary
- Assist technical department with capability analysis of process changes, new processes, and new closures
- Provide technical support for production operators and supervisors
- Analysis of customer returns
- Collect product samples as required and maintain the sample area
- Analysis of supplier samples and certifications
- Training of new quality employees and other employees in quality related activities as appropriate
3.0 Skills
- Good mathematical skills
- Good oral/written communication skills
- Computer literate in windows based software
- Analytical skills with the ability to problem solve
- Self-starter and team player
4.0 Experience
2 years quality experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
5.0 Education
High school diploma is preferred
6.0 Reporting Structure
Position reports to the Quality Manager
7.0 FLSA Status
Hourly, Non-exempt
