Dental Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a positive and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our 27 year old private, fee for service dental practice in Denton consisting of a small, close knit group of long term employees. Current Assistant is moving out of town and has been with us for a decade. Prior experience withEaglesoft is highly valued. Pay based on experience and prefer at least a couple of years experience.

Hours Monday- Thursday 8am-5:30 pm with lunch from 12-1.

Friday mornings available for non patient time activities if more hours needed.

Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards
• Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments
• Take diagnostic X-rays
• Record vital signs and medical history information accurately
• Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout treatment
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control protocols
• Support administrative tasks including answering phones, managing patient records, and assisting with front office and hygiene when necessary.

Experience

• Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred
• Proficiency with Eaglesoft
• Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices
• Experience performing X-ray procedures
• Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry, and general dental assisting skills

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
