Open Call - The Addams Family: School Edition, Ages 16-18 Englewood, NJ (bergenPAC's Performing Arts School)

DESCRIPTION

bergenPAC’s Performing Arts School is currently seeking students ages 16, 17, and 18 to audition for our Fall production of “The Addams Family.” This production is a part of our Showtime Series, and the official course title is “Showtime High School.”

Audition Dates:
Dance Call: Tuesday, September 29th at 7pm @ the Performing Arts School
Vocal and Acting Audition: Friday, October 2nd from 7pm-10pm @ the Performing Arts School.

-Tuesdays from 7:00pm-9:30pm @ the Performing Arts School

*Full company rehearsals begin Tuesday, October 6th, following auditions

Casting Breakdown:

We are currently casting all lead, supporting, and ensemble roles. Please see character breakdown below.

Gomez Addams: Passionate, dramatic, and devoted husband and father. Loves his family fiercely and gets caught between his wife and daughter.

Morticia Addams: Elegant, confident, darkly humorous matriarch who values tradition and honesty.

Wednesday Addams: Clever, independent, macabre teenager who falls in love with a “normal” boy and struggles with growing up.

Pugsley Addams: Mischievous, slightly jealous younger brother who enjoys tormenting Wednesday.

Uncle Fester: Lovable, eccentric, and childlike. Narrates the story and is hopelessly in love with the Moon.

Grandma Addams: Cranky, bizarre, and unpredictable elderly member of the family.

Lurch: The Addamses' extremely tall, deadpan butler. Speaks very little and moves slowly, but has surprising musical talent.

Lucas Beineke: Wednesday's sweet, earnest boyfriend. Comes from a conventional family and is trying to navigate the Addamses' world.

Mal Beineke: Lucas's father. Practical, serious, and uncomfortable with the Addams family's unconventional lifestyle.

Alice Beineke: Lucas's mother. Initially proper and reserved, but gradually reveals a more rebellious side.

The Addams Ancestors: Ghostly ancestors from different eras who live with the Addams family and comment on the action. They are usually energetic, theatrical, and highly stylized.
