Bergen Community College's Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development is seeking qualified professionals to join our team as Part-Time ESL Corporate Training Instructors. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping adult learners improve their English language skills in a professional setting.
Instructors will work with employees at corporate partner sites to build workplace communication skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Instruction should emphasize practical, real-world applications such as professional communication, customer interaction, and industry-specific vocabulary.
Instructors lead sessions ranging from 3 to 8 hours and may contribute to customizing course content based on employer needs. This position includes both virtual instruction and onsite teaching at corporate locations throughout Bergen County. Scheduling is flexible and may include daytime or evening classes. The ideal candidate is comfortable teaching in both online and in-person environments.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Deliver engaging ESL instruction focused on workplace communication
- Adapt lessons to meet the language proficiency levels and needs of adult learners
- Develop and customize course materials for corporate clients
- Provide practical language tools and strategies that can be applied on the job
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
SPECIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- Required: ESL teaching experience and relevant certification (e.g., TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to simplify complex language concepts for diverse learners
- Comfortable traveling to and teaching at corporate locations during the day
HOURLY RATE AND BENEFITS
