What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping/Receiving Dock Associate position at BERETTA USA CORP?
The Shipping/Receiving Associate coordinates the flow of materials from off inbound trucks to areas of the plant to prevent manufacturing downtime and packages/loads finished and semi-finished goods out to suppliers, the Accokeek plant and the BUSA Distribution Center in a timely manner. Performs a variety of computer functions relating to inventory control in the ERP system. Responsible for the accuracy of inventory through accurate computer transactions and cycle count adjustments. Responsible for safe handling of material at all times and protecting it from damage.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Verifies goods received by counting, weighing, and/or identifying goods against labels and receipt documentation. Performs the receiving transaction in the ERP system.
- Delivers goods received to the Receiving Inspection, semi-finished parts queue, or finished goods location as applicable.
- Performs cycle counts. Inputs cycle counts into computer. Generates and reviews count summaries for error, recounting as necessary. Recommends adjustments for approval.
- Performs inter-warehouse location transfers and conversions to new product codes (re-classing).
- Picks special orders and coordinates special handling with Accokeek departments.
- Operates shipping manifest system for small shipments.
- Supports Kanban standard work.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
May assist leaders on special projects and assist in training other warehouse employees on computer functions or other cross training.
Performs other duties as assigned, including support of the IPE Material Handlers.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Performance of duties requires heavy lifting. Physical effort may be required to transport in excess of 70 pounds.
Requires standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
Occasionally, will be exposed to all weather conditions in handling materials outside, unloading or loading vehicles.
Safety protective equipment as required.
QUALIFICATIONS/ABILITIES:
Pay attention to detail and time frames in processing paperwork. Transaction accuracy is critical.
Operate a variety of equipment including calculator, computer, scales, hand truck, pallet jack, and/or forklift.
Have a thorough knowledge of parts work flow, procedures and computer inventory systems (ERP or equivalent).
Perform basic mathematical calculations.
Physical ability to reach, stoop, bend, climb stairs, and move materials from floor-to-shelves and from department to department.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2 years as Warehouse Associate or equivalent experience preferred.
Computer experience required.
Experience operating a variety of equipment including calculator, computer, scales, handtruck, pallet jack, and/or forklift preferred.
