Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented EHS Lead to support and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs at our El Paso facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency response, safety auditing, and employee training. This role involves hands-on safety support, hazard identification, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- EHS Program Support: Collaborate in the development and implementation of protocols for all EHS programs and systems to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Hazard Control: Identify and control hazards that could impact employees, contractors, or visitors on site.
- Onsite Safety Support: Conduct daily safety activities including New Hire Safety Orientation and regular floor walks.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate and track workplace accidents; collaborate with management to establish corrective actions and eliminate unsafe practices.
- Compliance Auditing: Audit safety, health, and environmental activities, report findings, and track follow-up actions to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Emergency Response: Serve as a key point of contact in emergency situations; maintain a strong background in First Aid and Emergency Response protocols.
- Training & Communication: Improve EHS competency across the workforce through training sessions, communication campaigns, and teamwork.
- Documentation: Assist in the creation and review of Job Safety Breakdowns (JBS), Work Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other safety documents.
- Operational Support:
- Serve as a backup for the Recycle Team to ensure uninterrupted recycling activities across the plant.
- As needed and qualified, support production areas including Shipping, Receiving, Wiring, Pre-Wiring, Mechanical, Close-Up, and Testing.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and hazard identification.
- Certification in First Aid and Emergency Response is highly desirable.
- Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
- Ability to develop and deliver safety training and communication materials.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to support various operational roles as business needs arise.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods and walking throughout the facility.
- Willingness to respond to emergencies and work in production areas as needed.
