Location: Berean Baptist Church – Burnsville
Schedule: 20 hours per week (Part-Time)
Reports to: Missions & Outreach Pastor
Job Summary:
Are you passionate about making a Gospel impact in our community? Do you have a heart for helping others and spreading the love of Christ? Berean is seeking a dedicated Local Outreach Coordinator to join us in our mission to serve and support those in need in our community. As the Local Outreach Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in organizing and implementing outreach initiatives that address the needs of our local mission field. You will work closely with volunteers, staff members, and local partners to develop and execute ministries that foster Berean’s engagement in our community as well as spread the love of Christ through the Gospel.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Execution
- Collaborate with internal staff partners to facilitate events
- Manage event logistics for local outreach events
- Plan and execute events, organizing logistics and volunteers
- Mobilizes disaster response actions relating to events in the community
Communication & Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for all local outreach–related communications
- Provides communication to all outreach partners
- Connects Berean members to outreach opportunities
- Engage Berean congregants in our Missions and Outreach strategy
- Updates the Berean website/communications outlets (or provides content) with outreach and missions information
Partnership Development
- Establish new partnerships with organizations in the community
- Facilitates the Outreach Partner pipeline
- Assists in identifying and cultivating relationships with new outreach partners, internally and externally
Administrative & Departmental Support
- Manages department receipts and communicates ministry-related purchases to the finance department
- Engages in Missions and Outreach department meetings and activities as needed
- Engages in All-Staff meetings and activities
Training & Volunteer Development
- Assists in identifying training needs for volunteers and outreach/missions partners
- Coordinates training opportunities and local outreach-related classes
Data, Trends & Community Insight
- Keeps up on local trends and demographic data
- Seeks out information on local outreach needs in the community
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Bachelor Degree in a related field (preferred)
Qualifications:
- Ability to organize work, set priorities, and work independently
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office Proficient
- Collaborative mindset
- Flexible in terms of workflow and schedule
- Agreement with the Berean Baptist Church statement of faith
- Maintain or establish membership at Berean Baptist Church
Other Qualifications:
- Must be able to work prolonged periods at a desk
- Must be able to lift 10-15lbs at a time
