What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant JH Volleyball Coach position at Berean Academy?
For the 2026-2027 school year, Berean Academy is seeking a responsible Assistant Girls’ Volleyball Coach for the Junior High School. Practice and competition attendance are required, which may include some evenings and weekends. This is a stipend position for a season that lasts from August through October. Primary Responsibilities:
- Assisting the head coach in the planning and execution of practices and competitions
- Disciple student-athletes
- Teaching student-athletes to compete in a Christ-honoring way consistent with the philosophies of Berean Academy
- Individual skill development
- Supervision of student-athletes during practices and competitions, including travel to and from competitions.
Qualifications:
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Able to pass a background check.
Physical Requirements:
- The coach must be able to talk, hear, stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in an indoor/gym environment with some exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, and pick up or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and possess normal manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Spiritual Qualifications:
- Committed Christian.
- Maintain active membership/attendance in an evangelical church.
- Display a Christ-like attitude when relating to faculty, staff, parents, students, and others.
- Demonstrate the qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, punctuality, organization, and professionalism.
- Agree to the Berean Doctrinal Statement, Statement on Marriage, Gender, & Sexuality, and the Role Model Policy.
