The Berea College Health and Human Performance Department announces a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning August 2026. We seek a Dance educator who is an enthusiastic teacher with a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education. The successful applicant will be expected to teach core courses in the Dance Minor and General Education perspectives in the arts. Specific courses include World Dance, Dance Technique (in area of expertise), Beginning Jazz, Middle Eastern Dance Ensemble, and other courses as assigned. In addition to dance courses, faculty will be expected to teach a Comprehensive Wellness course. As well as other courses in the HHP Major and Health Minor as applicable. An MFA or Ph.D. in Dance or related field is required.

The Department offers B.A. degrees in Health and Human Performance, HHP P-12 Teaching Certification, Health Studies, and minors in Health Studies and Dance and provides a wide range of exercise science, health, and fitness courses and credentials serving the entire student body.

The ideal candidate will display professionalism when interacting with members of the Berea College community and will demonstrate a commitment to carrying out the mission of Berea College. Your Key Responsibilities
