Description

The IT Asset & Endpoint Specialist serves as the strategic authority and primary manager of the institution’s physical hardware assets, machine lifecycles, and core enterprise desktop applications. This role ensures operational efficiency by tracking device cycles from procurement to decommissioning, managing campus-wide software licensing, and serving as the Tier 3 escalation safety net for complex technical issues.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Database Ownership: Serve as the absolute “source of truth” for the campus IT asset management system, tracking the location, ownership, and status of all endpoint hardware devices
  • Lifecycle Management: Maintain, audit, and enforce institutional machine replacement cycles to ensure hardware remains performant, secure, and technologically up-to-date
  • Procurement & Ordering: Coordinate and manage all endpoint hardware purchasing and logistics, aligning procurement with department budgets and lifecycle schedules
  • Buffer Pool Coordination: Strategically oversee the “read-to-go” deployment inventory to support a high-availability device swap model for campus users.
  • Assist with helpdesk walk-ins, phone calls, and tickets
  • Maintain and deploy a small suite of software applications. Apps include DocuSign, Adobe, and Foxit

Other roles/duties will be assigned as necessary to assist the College in the attainment of the goals set forth and the enhancement of a positive, respectful learning environment for all staff, faculty and students.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • One to three years of experience in a technical support or educational environment

Special skills, knowledge and abilities: (Add common requirements)

  • Knowledge of and experience with at least several of the following technologies: Windows, macOS, iOS, desktop and laptop computers, printers, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Foxit, networking, JAMF, Intune, DocuSign, Adobe Creative Cloud, and classroom media technologies

License, certification, or registration necessary: (enter required, if any)

  • Ability to maintain warranty technician certifications with hardware suppliers as required by work assignment

  • Must be able to move between jobs
  • Ability to lift and move equipment from installed locations to the repair area and back

  • Professional office environment with interruptions and noise due to frequent visitors, students, staff, faculty, alumni, and retirees.

  • Ability to operate desktop equipment in mostly indoor office environments.
