What are the responsibilities and job description for the Department Manager Power Equipment position at Berea Ace Hardware?
The Power Equipment Department Manager (DM) is responsible for managing all operations within the Outdoor Power Equipment department. The DM is responsible for driving sales, ensuring maximum productivity, inventory control and employee training. The DM position requires a high level of organization, exemplary people skills, integrity and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. The DM is expected to maintain daily operations in accordance with store policy and procedures. This position requires a neat appearance, a pleasant demeanor and a certain amount of tolerance towards the many different personalities that you will encounter in the day to day operations. We must consistently work at instilling confidence in our customers by showing that we ACE – Helpful!
- Focus on Quality & Service and demonstrate an interest in growing the Outdoor Power Equipment business.
- Must be physically capable of lifting and handling heavy loads up to 60 lbs, and frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach and spend much of their time on their feet and active.
- Maintains appearance and wears uniform, name badge and radio every day.
- Good computer skills and a working knowledge of Windows computer operations systems is a must.
- Must be willing to work long hours and weekends during peak season.
- Must have a positive attitude and ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment.
- Excellent communication and decision making skills for customer service.
- Ability to organize and manage the department effectively
- Must have the ability to speak effectively one on one, to effectively listen and to interpret customer needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
