Role Overview:
BEPC Inc. is seeking a Sr Mechanical Design Engineer to support a leading aerospace customer in the design and development of advanced engine and Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) systems. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly collaborative engineering team focused on creating innovative aerospace solutions that improve performance, manufacturability, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in mechanical design, NX and Teamcenter, and aerospace propulsion systems. This role offers hands-on involvement throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from concept and design through manufacturing support and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Imagine, design, and develop aerospace products and systems as part of a highly engaged engineering team.
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop solutions that meet evolving customer requirements.
- Participate in all phases of product development, from concept through production.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering documentation using NX and Teamcenter.
- Perform engineering analyses, including structural assessments and weight optimization.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to improve producibility and reduce costs.
- Support cost estimation activities and product development planning.
- Work within cross-functional project teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to stakeholders and customers.
- Gather and incorporate Voice of Customer feedback into product improvements.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and drawing requirements.
- Review and validate engineering drawings created by team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- 6 years of mechanical design and engineering experience.
- Advanced experience with NX and Teamcenter.
- Experience supporting engine or Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) design programs.
- Strong understanding of ASME Y14.5 drawing standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), including creating and reviewing engineering drawings.
- Experience performing engineering analysis and design optimization.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aerospace propulsion system design experience.
- Experience supporting new product development programs.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, cost estimation, and design optimization techniques.
- Experience presenting technical concepts to customers and leadership teams.
