Role Overview
BEPC is seeking an experienced Lead Systems Engineer to support a leading aerospace customer in the development and analysis of advanced gas turbine engines. This role is ideal for a highly skilled engineer with deep expertise in gas turbine engine performance, operability, and thermal system modeling using NPSS (Numerical Propulsion System Simulation). The selected candidate will play a critical role throughout the engine development lifecycle, supporting engine definition, performance analysis, and model-based engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, debug, refine, and maintain steady-state and transient gas turbine engine thermal models using NPSS.
- Develop and support customer-facing NPSS engine models.
- Analyze engine performance and operability characteristics across a range of operating conditions.
- Lead requirements analysis and requirements decomposition activities.
- Support engine definition and development throughout all phases of New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Foster technical knowledge sharing and mentor team members in NPSS modeling methodologies and best practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support engine development programs.
- Generate and deliver technical reports, presentations, and engineering recommendations to leadership, customers, and stakeholders.
- Support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) initiatives and integration of NPSS models with MBSE tools such as Cameo.
- Identify and resolve complex engineering challenges related to engine performance and operability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in gas turbine engine Performance & Operability Modeling and Analysis.
- Extensive experience developing, debugging, and maintaining NPSS engine cycle models.
- Strong understanding of gas turbine engine steady-state and transient thermodynamics and physics.
- Proven experience solving complex aerospace engineering problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating NPSS models within Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environments.
- Familiarity with Cameo Systems Modeler or similar MBSE platforms.
- Demonstrated mentoring and technical leadership experience.
- Experience supporting commercial and military aerospace propulsion programs.
- Ability to work effectively across global, cross-functional engineering teams.
- Self-directed professional capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
