Quality Engineer

BEPC is actively looking for Quality Engineer in Rocky Mount, NC area!

W2 Contract – 5 months with possible extensions!

Pay Rate: $40.00 - $45.00 /hour - Determined based on experience (Paid weekly)

Work Model: Onsite role – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Quality Specialist to join our client’s site in Rocky Mount, NC. This role will support the preparation, review, and compliance of First Article Inspection Reports in alignment with AS9102 standards. The position requires detailed analysis of engineering documentation, materials, and components to assess conformance with aerospace specifications and requirements. The specialist will collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to facilitate early-stage production activities while ensuring adherence to quality assurance protocols.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Preparation and Review of FAIRs

• Develop, prepare, and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102 guidelines.
• Review and analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to ensure all data collected is accurate and complete.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to understand product specifications and requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors to gather necessary documentation and ensure compliance with supplier quality agreements.

Inspection and Testing

• Conduct detailed inspections, measurements, and tests on components as per AS9102 requirements to verify compliance with industry standards.
• Document inspection results accurately and formulate corrective action plans for nonconformances.

Compliance Monitoring

• Ensure adherence to company quality management systems and AS9102 regulations throughout the inspection process.
• Perform audits and reviews of FAIR processes and documentation as needed.

Continuous Improvement

• Participate in root-cause analysis and problem-solving activities related to failed inspections or nonconformities.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency..

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace quality assurance, particularly in First Article Inspection processes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of AS9102 and aerospace standards.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies is a plus
• AS9102 Auditor Certification preferred
• Quality Management System Auditing Certification is a plus.
