The Dyslexia Support Coach works in tandem with the Lead Dyslexia Specialist to provide comprehensive support for students demonstrating characteristics of dyslexia. Core Responsibilities
In this full-time capacity, the Dyslexia Support Coach will focus on the technical and collaborative aspects of the evaluation and intervention process:
Education/Certification:
Efficiency in the "background work" phase of reporting to ensure timely delivery of evaluation results. Successful collaboration with campus-level RTI and 504 teams. Accuracy in the administration and scoring of Level II screeners.

Core Responsibilities
In this full-time capacity, the Dyslexia Support Coach will focus on the technical and collaborative aspects of the evaluation and intervention process:
- Screening & Assessment:
- Administer and score Level II Screeners for referred students.
- Assist in the oversight and review of yearly required Universal Screeners for grades K-3 and necessary screenings for grades 3-12.
- Oversee and assist buildings with uPar, including the beginning of the year guidance, training, and data interpretation
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Complete the background work and data synthesis for dyslexia reports.
- Review dyslexia assessments from outside agencies to help determine if further district testing is warranted.
- Assist with beginning-of-year data collection and spreadsheet organization to support program setup and tracking.
- Consultation & School Support:
- Consult regularly with principals and interventionists regarding student progress, Level II referrals and programming decisions.
- Assist campus RtI committees in identifying students who show gaps in literacy or characteristics of dyslexia.
- Assist with 504 three-year re-evaluations, including data collection, documentation, and coordination with campus teams.
- Communication:
- Support and participate in parent meetings to discuss evaluation results, screening recommendations and intervention plans.
- Serve as a resource for parents, providing information and ongoing support regarding dyslexia services.
- Professional Development:
- Dyslexia Coach and the Lead Specialist in providing ongoing training for staff in the administration and interpretation of diagnostic assessments.
- Help train district staff on effective instructional strategies for students with dyslexia.
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education.
- Valid Arkansas Teacher's License.
- Enrollment in or completion of a Dyslexia Therapy Training Program (as defined by the ADE) is preferred.
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience (multi-grade level experience preferred).
- Experience working directly with students who exhibit characteristics of dyslexia.
- Evidence of strong written communication skills, specifically in the context of educational reporting and data analysis.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with campus leadership and diverse instructional teams.
- Experience with Level II diagnostic testing or formal student assessments is preferred.
- Knowledge of ACT 1268 requirements and district compliance standards.
