Entry-level position in the Benton County Assessor’s office, focusing on fair property valuations through field work and data verification. Ideal for detail-oriented individuals who enjoy outdoor work, independent thinking, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform field inspections: gather/verify physical data (measurements, photos, sketches) and identify value-affecting changes with accuracy
- Conduct periodic exterior property assessments in various terrains and weather
- Use office software, maps, and manuals for appraisals, coding, and communications
- Handle customer interactions professionally, including stressful situations
- Maintain team relationships and complete tasks as assigned by the Appraisal Manager
Qualifications:
- Valid Arkansas driver’s license
- Strong math skills, independent thinking, and professional image
- Ability to adapt to appraisal tools/software and work outdoors in all conditions
- Excellent communication for taxpayer and inter-office correspondence
- Superior time management skills
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma
- Related experience in real estate, appraisal, accounting
- Opportunity to obtain a professional designation as Senior Appraiser through the State of Arkansas (classes will be held in Little Rock and each lasts one week)
Preferred:
Interest/experience in real estate, appraisal or accounting
Ability to maintain accuracy and volume with little supervision
