Benton County's Developmental Diversity Services department is seeking a Division Manager.

Job Summary

Benton County Health Department is seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to serve as the Developmental Diversity Division Manager.

The Developmental Diversity Division supports children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families throughout Benton County. The division helps individuals connect with services and supports that promote independence, safety, inclusion, and quality of life. Staff work closely with individuals, families, providers, schools, state partners, and community organizations to ensure services are person-centered and responsive to individual needs.

The Division Manager leads a team of dedicated professionals responsible for service coordination, quality assurance, eligibility determination, protective services, and other programs that support individuals across the lifespan. This position is responsible for operations, budget management, staff supervision, program planning, policy development, quality improvement, and compliance with state and federal requirements.

This role requires someone who can balance day-to-day operational responsibilities with longer-term planning and program development. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in complex systems, supporting staff, building relationships with partners, and helping navigate challenges that affect individuals and families receiving services.

As a member of the Health Services leadership team, the Division Manager contributes to cross-divisional planning and problem-solving efforts and helps ensure that community members can access services and supports across systems.

Benton County has a long history of leadership in developmental disabilities services. The county was one of the first in Oregon to pilot a community-based service coordination model, helping shape the statewide system that exists today. The Developmental Diversity Division continues that work by supporting individuals and families and helping build a community where people with disabilities can thrive.

  • Annual salary range of: $96,194 - $131,175
    • This position is eligible for up to two salary raises within your first year. An Increase may be given at the end of the 6-month probationary period, depending on starting salary, and at the 1-year anniversary, as long as your performance is in good standing! Annual performance-based increases are given until the maximum of the salary range is reached.
    • Note: salary placement will be based on your level of directly related experience and education consistent with Oregon's pay equity law.

Minimum Qualifications
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Education, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Social Sciences, Human Services or related field; AND 
  • 5 years of progressively responsible professional work experience in human services, social services, diverse populations, or other related fields, including at least two years of supervisory experience.  
    • Supervisory experience includes the authority to hire, terminate, assign, reward, discipline, etc. other employees.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent. There is no substitute for the supervisory experience. 
Special Requirements
  • Valid Driver’s license and acceptable driving record.  This position requires driving and may require use of a personal vehicle. 
  • Successfully pass a background check.
