What are the responsibilities and job description for the Norway Intermediate School Nurse position at Benton Community School District?
Benton Community School District (BCSD) is seeking a school nurse at our Norway Intermediate School (can be certified LPN, RN, or BSN).
Position Purpose: To provide assessment, screening, planning, intervention, evaluation, counseling, management and/or referrals concerning the health and medical care needs of students for the purpose of minimizing absences due to illness, maximizing educational opportunities, and creating a healthy school climate.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with health care providers, students parents, school district staff and community agencies to ensure access and continuity of care for students.
- Collects information about the health development status of students for compliance with state immunization regulations and Board of Education policies.
- Performs nursing assessment for students who are ill or injured; applies appropriate theory as basis for providing first aid, nursing care, intervention and referrals for those students.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation in accordance with state and federal law, and Board of Education policies.
- Participates in planning the modification of the school program to meet the special health needs of children.
- Participates in faculty meetings as needed.
- Attends workshops, meetings and professional development sessions to promote professional growth.
- Supervise all medication administration and trains other staff as necessary.
- Any other such duties that may be assigned.
LPN, RN, or BSN nursing license required and current certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Salary and work year as established by the Board or by the collective bargaining agreement if such exists.
