SUBSTITUTE ASSOCIATE / PARA -  INFORMATION

The following guidelines will be in effect for the 2024-25 school year concerning substitute ASSOCIATE / PARA
Preferred but not required:  Associate certificate from the AEA
.
Associates/Paras might also be available to teach in the classroom if the appropriate licensure exists.  
The Iowa Department of Education has made the following changes for 2020-2021 substitute teaching options:

Each substitute Associate must have on file in the Central Administration Office:
  1. Trainings - please work with Melisa Venneman in Central Office for all required training, physical examination requirements, signature on specific board poliicies, etc..
  2. Completed application through Frontline/Applitrack system
  3. Physical examination form. Required for all employees for placement on active substitute list; to be updated every three  years at a Cost to be borne by the employee.
  4. Clean returned background check and fingerprinting.  

Wage:
Special Education Sub Associate - $14.00/hour
Regular Education Sub Associate - $14.00
