Bus Driver

Position Summary The School Bus Driver for Benton-Carroll-Salem Local Schools is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation for students to and from school, extracurricular events, and field trips. This position ensures compliance with Ohio Department of Education and district safety standards while fostering a positive and respectful environment for all passengers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate a school bus in accordance with Ohio laws, ODE/ODPS regulations, and district policies. Transport students along assigned routes and to district-approved activities. Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify the safe operating condition of the bus. Maintain student discipline and enforce bus safety rules to ensure a secure environment. Communicate courteously and effectively with students, parents, staff, and administrators. Promptly report accidents, incidents, or unsafe conditions to the Transportation Director. Maintain accurate and timely records (e.g., inspection logs, route sheets, incident reports). Attend and participate in all mandatory safety meetings and training sessions. Provide assistance to students with special needs during boarding and exiting when required.
