Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems across various properties. This role requires a strong mechanical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret schematics and HVAC design plans. The technician will ensure optimal operation of heating, cooling, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment, contributing to property maintenance and system efficiency. A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and ventilation equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend system lifespan.
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct plumbing repairs related to HVAC systems when necessary.
- Repair appliances and perform general property maintenance related to HVAC operations.
- Utilize welding skills for equipment repair or modification projects as needed.
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with ammonia refrigeration systems and HVAC/R equipment when required.
- Operate field service vehicles safely in accordance with company policies.
Experience
- Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC or related mechanical fields.
- Construction or property maintenance experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is desirable.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience with appliance repair, boiler operation, welding, and equipment repair is advantageous.
- Mechanical knowledge related to air conditioning systems and field service operations is essential.
- Previous work involving plumbing, refrigeration, or ammonia refrigeration systems will be highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field while adhering to safety protocols.
