Structural Engineer - Construction [In person]

Benson Woodworking Company is looking to hire a Junior Engineer (Engineer in Training) or a licensed Senior Structural Engineer

Position Summaries

As a member of our Construction Documentation team, you will be part of a diverse group of designers and engineers collaborating on many of the amazing projects we build. The Junior Engineer role will provide the opportunity to develop new skills and contribute to our dynamic team culture. The Senior Engineer will have the opportunity to both oversee the engineering work of other team members, as well as taking on your own projects and seeing them through to completion. Travel related to this full-time, non-exempt role will be less than 5%. This role will be based in our Walpole, NH office and is primarily an in-person role.

Junior Engineer (EIT)

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis on light wood frame and small mass timber structures, including gravity and lateral analysis
• Design, model, and draft foundations; wall, floor, and roof framing; and timber frame structures following construction and government codes and standards, using analysis software, excel spreadsheets, and 3d and 2d CAD drawing tools
• Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, and structural alternatives to timber framers, carpenters, architects, construction managers, and sales associates

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum Associate’s degree in structural, mechanical, or civil engineering or similar
• BIM and/or CAD software experience
• E.I.T. preferred
• Construction experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range for this role is $50,000 to $70,000 a year, commensurate with experience. Please be advised that this serves as a guideline.

Senior Structural Engineer

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis on light wood frame and small mass timber structures, including gravity and lateral analysis
• Act as Engineer of Record for both your own projects as well as project work done by team members under your oversight.
• Design, model, and draft foundations; wall, floor, and roof framing; and timber frame structures following construction and government codes and standards, using analysis software, excel spreadsheets, and 3d and 2d CAD drawing tools
• Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, and structural alternatives to timber framers, carpenters, architects, construction managers, and sales associates

Preferred Qualifications

• BS in structural, mechanical, or civil engineering or similar
• Active PE license in at least one state
• BIM and/or CAD software experience
• Construction experience preferred
