Location: Benson Primary School
Reports To: Benson Primary School Principal
TERMS & BENEFITS: 10 month position, 40 hours/week; medical, dental, vision, life benefits; 403(b); 10 sick days and 2 personal days; preschool/child care discounts; mandatory participation in Arizona State Retirement System.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have high school diploma or equivalent AND minimum of 3-6 months experience in childcare, education or working with children in related activities. If applicant does not have an Associates degree, then applicant must be able to pass a Highly Qualified paraprofessional test.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Observes and monitors control of students’ behavior in the classroom and other areas.
- Supervises large and small groups of students.
- Establishes, maintains and promotes a classroom atmosphere which ensures the emotional and physical safety and well-being of students and emphasizes mutual respect, self-worth, self-discipline, cooperation, consideration and responsibility.
- Assesses student needs and develops, implements and evaluates daily lesson plans for students to include scheduled activities and materials.
- Modifies instruction of program to meet the needs of each child.
- Plans, organizes and displays classroom materials, space and time appropriate to curricular activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned
