POSITION

We are seeking a proactive Director of Talent Acquisition to build and execute a talent acquisition strategy and infrastructure to attract top talent to the company. Reporting to the Vice President of Talent, this leader recognizes that hiring is critical to our success. We seek a leader who will elevate the TA function including hiring and coaching a high-performance team. This position exists to build a strategic recruiting function that serves as a consultative partner to the business and drives disciplined and inclusive talent acquisition practices and quantifiable outcomes. This leader will enhance and coach their team to take a proactive, thoughtful, collaborative approach to improve the way we recruit to achieve business goals.

This role will help to define and evangelize their employer brand message through all recruitment initiatives and events.

Ideal candidates will have experience building and leading a Talent Acquisition function in a growing, fast paced environment with a diverse workforce including hourly, seasonal, and exempt workers. Experience optimizing recruiting technology and a passion for collaboration are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance, develop, and lead a high-performing TA function, leveraging labor market insights, innovation, and creativity, to attract the right customer services orientated team members to Turning Stone.
  • Develop and execute a centralized enterprise full cycle recruitment strategy including sourcing, identifying, screening, and on-boarding a diverse and qualified applicant pool for all levels of placement on a timely and effective basis.
  • Creates a recruitment plan and goals based on workforce plans including growth and turnover projections and other business objectives.
  • Drives the execution of an innovative, cost-effective recruitment plan and the creation and monitoring of associated programs, processes, and measurements to achieve strategic goals and talent objectives.


  • Identifies and recruits top talent through local and national recruiting efforts, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources, as well as developing and employing new, creative recruiting ideas to talent acquisition needs.
  • Manage the employer brand and ensure a consistent and positive candidate and client experience across the enterprise. Seeks to continuously improve every stage of the recruitment life cycle.
  • Develops roadmap for candidate and client management that optimizes applicant and hiring manager time, elicits engagement, and enhances satisfaction with processes.
  • Oversees an onboarding program that provides essential information and creates excitement for hired Team Members.
  • Regularly meets with hiring managers and executive leaders to assess Talent Acquisition performance.
  • Partners with leadership and collaborate with peers across the company to provide best practices in acquisition and engagement, recommend HR process improvements and implement system enhancements that drive better outcomes in the hiring process.
  • Collaborates with other HR Team Members to ensure effective alignment and hand-offs for intersecting processes.
  • Manages Phenom as the ATS, and new AI recruiting tools, leveraging quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Recommends and maintains recruitment metrics. On a regular basis, analyzes metrics and key processes, implements, and recommends process improvements that will assist in meeting standards and/or targets.
  • Creates metrics, scorecards, and dashboards to evaluate talent acquisition effectiveness including source of hire, cost per hire, time-to-fill, etc.
  • Ensures an EEO/AAP compliant selection process including reporting and internal education.
  • Develops and maintains a deep understanding of our business, the market, our competition, and emerging trends within the talent acquisition industry.
  • Develops and leads a team of Talent Acquisition professionals.
  • Provides strategic, tactical, and daily direction to the Talent Acquisition team.
  • Establishes and maintains the overall work cadence and, in partnership with department leadership, ensures performance and outcomes strive for excellence in delivery and customer experience. Ensures that the entire team is engaged and that leadership practices encourage development, recognition, and retention.
  • Help create a best-in-class experience throughout the entire employee lifecycle, from first communication to alumni.

Professional Experience:

  • 10 years of progressive experience in hands-on recruiting and leading a TA team.
  • Experience leading Talent Acquisition for an organization with a wide variety of roles including non-exempt and exempt
  • Prior experience with a large hourly workforce, including shift workers, is required.
  • Industry experience in Hospitality, Healthcare or Retail is highly desired. Resorts or casino experience would be highly valued but not required.
  • Experience with overseeing a transformation in Talent Acquisition
  • Deep understanding of the business and its drivers.
  • Has led a team of at least 5.
  • Demonstrated experience with raising the bar on talent, utilizing coaching and development skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of utilizing technology; including automation and/or integration of wider tools to support the Talent Acquisition function.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
