POSITION: High School Guidance Counselor
The Bensalem Township School District is seeking a Long-Term Substitute School Counselor at Bensalem High School to start around the beginning of February 2027 through the end of the 2026-2027 school year to support students in their academic, social/emotional, and career development.
Responsibilities include:

Provide academic guidance and counseling to support student success.

Assist students with course selection, scheduling, and educational planning.

Support students with college admissions, scholarship opportunities, and post-graduate planning.

Provide career exploration resources and assist students in evaluating career interests and opportunities.

Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff to address student needs.

Assist students in identifying and overcoming barriers to learning and achieving their educational goals.

Orient new students to school procedures, programs, and available educational opportunities.

Maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with District policies.

Provide student information and recommendations to colleges and potential employers, as appropriate.

Collaborate with school personnel to promote students' academic progress and social/emotional well-being.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

PA Secondary Guidance Certification or Guidance K-12 Certification.

Demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, staff, administrators, and educational agencies.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage student records in accordance with District policies.

Demonstrate the ability to support students with academic planning, college preparation, career development, and personal growth.
