K-8 Flex Teacher

The Taconic and Green Regional School District is seeking a passionate, student-centered K-8 Flex Teacher to support and inspire young learners across grades K-8 in a dynamic, multi-site role. In this dynamic role, the K-8 Flex Teacher provides consistent, high-quality instruction across multiple classrooms, stepping in to ensure continuity of learning during teacher absences, coverage needs and targeted instructional support whenever short and long-term coverage needs arise. The Teacher creates welcoming, inclusive learning environments that quickly establish trust and maintain strong classroom routines, encouraging exploration, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning. While the day-to-day responsibilities and assignments may change, the K-8 Flex Teacher is embedded within their assigned school’s community for the duration of the assignment. The K-8 Flex Teacher delivers developmentally appropriate instruction in the four core content areas, adapting lessons to meet the diverse needs of students across grade levels and classroom contexts. This role requires flexibility, responsiveness, and a strong understanding of elementary curriculum and instructional practices to seamlessly transition between classrooms while fostering independence, collaboration and resilience in all students. As an integral member of the school community, the K-8 Flex Teacher works closely with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to ensure each student thrives. Aligned with Vermont’s commitment to educating the whole child, this role blends strong academic instruction with social-emotional learning, positive behavior supports, and inclusive practices into daily work across settings. Applicants are expected to know current instructional research and evidence-based instructional practices. Strong candidates will demonstrate a student-centered approach, exemplary oral and written communication skills, strong relationship-building skills with students, and a commitment to working collaboratively with all colleagues.
