What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Grapple Truck Operator/ Groundsman position at Bennetts Tree Service Inc?
Understand this is not a DRIVER ONLY POSITION This is a groundman position that is in charge of a grapple truck and loader. When the equipment is not used you will be a groundman which includes working in the elements, dragging limbs, using chainsaw, rake, pitch forks, skid steers, etc. You Must Have A CDL License
Bennett's Tree Service is growing, and we are looking to add a CDL Driver to our team of experts. The CDL Driver is responsible for operating light, medium and heavy equipment, along with light to heavy duty trucks. The CDL Driver is also responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties, tree trimming, pruning, tree removal and stump grinding. Class A CDL or Class B with air brake endorsement is required.
Responsibilities:
- Operating Grapple Truck including Knuckleboom, loading and unloading Debris.
- Operating hand and power equipment including but not limited to hand saws, pole pruners, and chainsaws.
- Providing routine maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Ensuring all tools, equipment, and materials are well maintained and accounted for prior to and after completion of each job.
- Maintaining a high level of quality in all work performed.
- Completing all duties in compliance with company safety policies.
Qualifications:
- Must have valid Driver's License.
- Must have valid Class A CDL or Class B with air brake endorsement.
- Must have experience driving a manual shift.
- 2 years minimum experience running heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local rules, regulations, guidelines and standards.
- Ability to complete labor-intensive work outdoors with exposure to a variety of weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
- Ability to navigate on uneven terrain, stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis

WHEN YOU ARE NOT OPERATING THE LOADER OR DRIVING TO/ FROM OFFICE OR DUMP YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY GROUND WORK INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO OPERATING CHAINSAWS, RAKES, PITCHFORKS, DRAGGING/ STACKING DEBRIS, RUNNING SKIDSTEERS, AND ANY OTHER RELATED DUTIES OF TREE CARE.
