Bennett & West PLLC, a well-established law firm in King, NC, is seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join our growing team. We specialize in real estate transactions, title work, and related matters throughout the Piedmont Triad and surrounding areas.
We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive paralegal with strong experience in residential and commercial real estate closings. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable managing multiple transactions simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review real estate closing documents, including deeds, promissory notes, deeds of trust, and closing statements (HUD-1/Closing Disclosure)
- Coordinate with title companies, lenders, real estate agents, and clients to ensure timely and accurate closings
- Prepare and file legal documents with county registers of deeds
- Manage post-closing tasks and document recording
- Maintain client files and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and third parties
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Real Estate Paralegal (North Carolina experience strongly preferred)
- Thorough knowledge of North Carolina real estate law, closing procedures, and title insurance
- Proficiency with Qualia or similar closing software is a plus
- Familiarity with North Carolina e-recording systems and county filing requirements
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Notary Public certification (or willingness to obtain one)
- North Carolina Certified Paralegal standing or Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies preferred
