What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier/ FOH Customer Service position at Bennett's Sandwich Shop?
We are seeking professional Cashiers and Front of House Employees to join our growing talented team to provide excellent customer service to Bennett's Standards. Candidates must have open availability and at least 1 year experience operating in a high volume restaurant for full time consideration. Strong restaurant Front of House Skills are required. Food prep and sandwich making may be required. Starting hourly rate is between $16-20 per hour plus tips ($2-4/hr), and depends on experience and capabilities determined at interview. Developmental and growth opportunities available. We are seeking candidates to grow with us professionally and financially. There are currently 2 part time and potentially 1 full time positions for immediate hire.
Responsibilities
- Greet every Bennett's customer with smile and sincere warm welcoming
- Say bye to and thank every guest as they leave Bennett's
- Gracefully take orders on the POS and over the phone
- Multi tasking with expediting (bagging orders), checking in drivers and communicating with manager and stations on what is needed
- Assist with preparing and executing catering orders
- Keep dinning room, bathroom and patio cleaned and stocked
- Replenish and stock chips, drinks, misc items as needed
- Help other stations clean and stock after and between rushes
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, slicing meats, or preparing sauces and/or preparing smoothies)
- Prepare menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow manager’s and owner's instructions
- Clean up station and stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Skills
- Experience working as a cashier in retail, or FOH experience in a restaraunt
- Ability to cooperate with peers to prepare a high volume of food during peak periods
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks, and multitasking
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Proven experience in preparing menu items accurately and to order.
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures is a plus but not required.
- License is not required, but a valid license with good driving record enables you to deliver orders for additional tips associated with catering deliveries
