We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Wire EDM Programmer/Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Wire Electrical Discharge Machines (EDM) to produce precision metal components. Your expertise will ensure high-quality outputs by utilizing advanced CNC (Computer Numerical Control) technology and precision measurement tools. Compensation range of $22.00-$24.00/ HR with anticipation to grow within the company. In addition to an excellent benefit package which includes twice annual bonus payouts, 8 paid holidays, BDnT pays for 85% of the costs of medical insurance for our employees. We also offer an excellent 401k plan and a PTO program.
Responsibilities
- Program Wire EDM machines using ESPRIT CAD/CAM software.
- Set up and operate Wire EDM equipment, ensuring optimal machining conditions for complex geometries and tight tolerances.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical blueprints with a strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Perform precise measurements using measurement instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers to verify part accuracy.
- Maintain and troubleshoot tooling and machining setups for consistent quality output.
- Conduct routine inspections of machined parts to ensure compliance with specifications using measurement tools and quality control standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machine setups, programs, inspection reports, and process adjustments.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance including replacement of wire, filters, and deionization resin.
Skills
- Proficiency in programming and operating Wire EDM machines with Mitsubishi controls or similar CNC systems.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software such for efficient machine setup.
- Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes and related machinery operation.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings accurately; familiarity with GD&T standards is essential.
- Strong math skills necessary for precise calculations related to geometry and measurement tolerances.
