Job Summary:
The Special Education teacher is responsible for providing appropriate learning experiences for students with exceptionalities in a variety of educational settings; and in an educational atmosphere in which students will move toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth in accordance with district and school policies and in alignment with the vision and mission of Legacy of Excellence, Inc.
Job requirements:
The following are required:
1. Bachelor’s in Education, or Bachelor’s in related field.
The following are preferred:
1. Eligible for Louisiana Teacher Certification or practitioner’s license
2. Experience in working with Students with Disabilities
3. CPI Trained
4. Knowledge of effective classroom management/discipline strategies
5. Knowledge of the Louisiana State Content Standards
6. Knowledge of instructional processes and student engagement strategies
7. Knowledge of and experience in differentiating instruction
8. Familiarity with PBIS
