Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Write detailed repair orders and estimates using estimating software, ensuring accuracy and clarity
- Communicate effectively with technicians regarding diagnostics, repairs, and parts availability
- Upsell additional services or maintenance based on customer needs to enhance vehicle performance and safety
- Manage customer inquiries, provide updates on repair progress, and explain recommended services clearly
- Handle cash transactions, process payments accurately, and maintain proper financial records
- Utilize automotive diagnostics knowledge to assist in estimating repairs for complex issues like transmissions or collision damage
Skills
- Strong automotive mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs such as brake repair, suspension work, tire service, shocks & struts, oil changes, and transmission work
- Proven ability in auto estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients
- Experience with dealership or auto service management environments is highly preferred
- Skilled in upselling services and parts to maximize shop revenue while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Familiarity with service technician processes including collision repair workflows and automotive repair procedures
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately along with strong organizational skills for managing multiple customer interactions simultaneously
