Benhaven is looking for Direct Support Professionals to work for our Individual & Family Supports assisting individuals with autism in their homes and the community. We are seeking enthusiatic and energetic applicants to provide support to our individuals.
Available positions listed below:
Meriden: Part-time: (12 hours) Fri 3:30p-7:30p; Sat & Sun 10a-2p
Guilford/Branford Part-time: (22 hrs) Monday 11a-3pm & 3:30p-7:30p, Tuesday 3:30p-7:30p, Wednesday 4p-7p, Saturday 8a-2p.
Guilford/Branford Part-time (15 hrs) Tuesday, Thurs & Friday 4p-7p; Sunday 12p-6p
Milford Part time: (10 hrs) Monday & Wednesday 8am-1pm
New Haven/Hamden Part-Time (10 hours): Tuesday & Thursday 4p-7p; Friday 3p-7p
Responsibilities:
The following duties are assigned to this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Work with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and possibly their families:
- Encourage building skills for independence
- Encourage and assist in increasing socialization
- Encourage and assist individuals with the pursuit of vocational opportunities
- Assist and provide opportunities for individuals to participate in recreational activities
Experience & Requirements:
- Must have experience working with individuals with autism.
- Must be able to pass a variety of background checks.
- Must have a CT driver's license.
- Applicant must have a registered and insured vehicle that can pass a safety inspection.
- Will train in PMT (physical management training) and CPR, if not already certified.
